Morning Roundup – Opposite ends of the spectrum

February 12th, 2010

There is a lot of rumour trades and speculation going on right now. We lead this morning’s roundup with a take from Chad Ford over at blogabull.com. He thinks Bonner and a few others Spurs should head to Chicago in exchange for youth and athleticism. Hey – I’d love to see Bonner in Chicago – closer to TO and we’d play him one more time a… Continue reading

The Raptors radio colour commentator caught up with Bonner in the back hallway of the Air Canada Centre while in Toronto in early January. Bonner’s trip to Toronto soured with broken hand

January 1st, 2010

All season I’ve been waiting for January 3rd when the San Antonio Spurs and more importantly, Matt Bonner, make their annual trip to Toronto for a basketball contest. However this year won’t be as exciting since our adopted son is sitting out with a broken hand suffered mid-December in a match against the Indiana Pacers.

Basically it’s a… Continue reading

Bonner inspires New Hampshirine kids

February 11th, 2009

Kevin Gray of the Union Leader wrote an article about Matt’s return to his hometown against the Boston Celtics pointing out that the last two times he’s visited the Garden he’s either been injured or benched. But not this time and Bonner put on a show, dropping a season-high 23 points including a must-make jumper in the dying minutes of the game.
“At the end of… Continue reading

Who’s still debating Bonner should be in the three-point shooting contest?

January 28th, 2009

Almost every story from around the Net on last night’s Spurs victory over the Utah Jazz dedicates at least a paragraph to Matt Bonner scoring 20 points including six three-pointers.

Ross Siler of the Salt Lake City Tribune said the Jazz had to “… Continue reading

January 4th, 2009

You’ve probably seen this because it’s two years old. But Matt requested there be a case of Molson Canadian beer in the locker room after winning the NBA championship in 2007. It’s a great photo.

The best three point shooter ever (a debate)

January 3rd, 2009

Over at the Slophouse, a writer muses whether or not Rotnel Clarke is the best three-point shooter ever and looks to Clarke’s coach, John Pelphrey, for insight.

Pelhrey was an assistant while Matt Bonner was at Florida and says Clarke is better (at shooting three’s) than Bonner and a list of other proficient long-bombers. Here’s an excpert:
Pelphrey has been… Continue reading
